Performer Bios

Michele Sharon Wilmot

Michele Wilmot was born in St. Bruno, Quebec. Her long time love for the piano, music, learning and lessons has earned her an Associate Degree in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and an Honours Licentiate Degree from the British Columbia Conservatory of Music. Michele is also a Registered Music Teacher (RMT) and is currently the acting President of the local Kitchener Waterloo branch of the Ontario Registered music Teacher’s Association (ORMTA). She has earned a Certificate of Recognition for Professional Achievement from the Canadian Federation of Music Teacher’s Association (CFMTA) 2014-2016 and 2016-2018.

Michele has dedicated more than 25 years to teaching piano to students.

Michele works within the community as an assistant music director to two churches. She also fills in where needed at other churches including short term music director contract positions. She donates her time to support local charities and nursing homes. She currently works for the Royal Conservatory of Toronto as the Cambridge Centre Representative.

Alten Wilmot

is a dedicated musician and teacher. He is a graduate of Sheridan College’s Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre program, and a graduate of Eastwood Collegiate’s Integrated Arts Program. With the Royal Conservatory of Music, Alten holds his Grade 10 Piano, Grade 10 Voice, and advanced theory diplomas.
Alten is consistently performing in concerts, churches, as well as in productions with various theatre companies. Alten is the founder of Unwrap Theatre and the founder of the past local performing group Voices Over Time, a troupe of solo singers that give back to the community, by sharing their songs with the seniors and hospital patients of Kitchener-Waterloo. In teaching music, Alten believes in building a solid technical foundation to allow each musician to explore their own style and artistry.

Carol Ditner-Wilson

Carol Ditner-Wilson

(B.Mus; ARCT; RCM Advanced Specialist)

is a native of Niagara Falls who has lived in Kitchener-Waterloo since 1978 and has been actively teaching piano, theoretical subjects, and working as a church musician ever since. She is a long time member and former past president of KW ORMTA. She is a wife, a mom and a grandma. About ten years ago she met Michele Wilmot and they began to meet weekly for coffee and duets.
